The End Of Streetwear
As the decade comes to an end, everyone is looking forward to new trends and happenings for 2020. With that being said Virgil Abloh, founder of Off-White as well as the creative for Louis Vuitton’s menswear, has predicted that streetwear will be left in this decade.
“Like it’s time will be up” in his own words during a recent interview with Dazed magazine. I think it’s kinda of odd due to the fact that he came into the game with the heavily sought after Pyrex clothing, but understanding he’s into more of luxe fashion with Louis Vuitton that he’s creating for. Most people this year alone has become big names on social media and the fashion industry due to streetwear, so I know this is the last thing people want to hear going into 2020.
He further explained that instead of new pieces emerging, streetwear pieces will become archived and the search for these quality garments will become a staple. And when you think about it most streetwear have already died off and is a job in itself to find these vintage pieces to later sell at higher price.
“In my mind, how many more t-shirts can we own, how many more hoodies, how many sneakers” and my wife and I feels he is absolutely right, so it maybe time to alter your look and closet, stay on the look out in 2020.
Stay positive!!!!
Stay fashionable!!!!
