Zoe Saldana recently starred in the indie film “Infinitely Polar Bear” which she describes as the best working experience of her life.
The director, Maya Forbes, “wanted me to gain weight. I guess she wanted me to look more like a mother. “I have to admit it bothered me. I don’t think the essence of a person comes down to the girth of that person. And I also think [Maya] thought I was too young, next to Mark,” said Saldana, speaking of co-star Mark Ruffalo to Daily News.
Maya Forbes writes and directs a personal story of a manic-depressive mess of a father tries to win back his wife by attempting to take full responsibility of their two young, spirited daughters, who don’t make the overwhelming task any easier.
Forbes wrote about her bittersweet childhood living in livid conditions with her sister, mother and eccentric bipolar father.
The film premiered in the USA on June 19, 2015.
Saldana, who was in the headlines just a month ago, revealed that her husband whom she secretly tied the knot with two years ago, adopted her surname after they exchanged vows.
She states, “I tried to talk him out of it,” Zoe admitted in the July issue of InStyle magazine. “I told him, ‘If you use my name, you’re going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world.’ But Marco looks up at me and says, ‘Ah, Zoe, I don’t give a s–t.'”
So, all seems beautiful in the world of the Saldana!
